The North Dakota State College of Science Alumni/Foundation, in partnership with the Cass County Career and Technical Education Center (C3TEC), announced that construction progress continues on the new Career Innovation Center (CIC), located at 4230 64th Avenue South in Fargo, N.D. The CIC groundbreaking took place in July 2021, and soon thereafter construction began on Phase 1 of the more than 92 thousand square foot project (57,065 square feet in Phase 1, and 35,104 square feet in Phase 2). As you travel north along Interstate Highway 29 and look to the west, you will see the construction is progressing, adding to the growing skyscape.
Although the project has fallen a bit behind schedule due to supply chain and weather delays. The $10 million funding that C3TEC was awarded through the Federal Coronavirus Capital Grants Program has been delayed, in turn suspending construction for Phase 2. When funds become available, construction will begin on Phase 2. The CIC is scheduled to open its doors in August 2023, however, official opening will be highly dependent on labor, supply chain and weather.
Advances on the centrally located CIC, NDSCS is planning for the future, determining the needs of business and industry and providing solutions to learner requests. Our goal is to bring career awareness and access to expand the future workforce,” said Kim Nelson, Executive Director for the NDSCS Alumni Foundation. To learn more, visit NDSCS.edu/CIC.
