The NDSCS Alumni Foundation is one of the participating charities for Giving Hearts Day, a 24-hour giving event for charities across North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota that will take place on Thursday, February 14, 2019. All donations the NDSCS Alumni Foundation receives through Giving Hearts Day will support the NDSCS Nursing department.
Donations can be made online at impactgiveback.org. Donations can be made on February 14, or scheduled prior to February 14 to be processed on Giving Hearts Day. Those wishing to support the NDSCS Nursing department can do so by selecting the North Dakota State College of Science Foundation while making their donation.
This is the 6th year the NDSCS Alumni Foundation has participated in Giving Hearts Day. Over the last three years, the Foundation has raised $32,000 to support the NDSCS Nursing Department through this annual event. The majority of the funds raised will help to purchase a high fidelity manikin simulator that can be used as a strategy to teach students in the Practical Nursing and Registered Nursing programs. Simulations can include scenarios throughout a lifespan, including labor and delivery, newborn, pediatric and adult medical and surgical scenarios.
Giving Hearts Day is sponsored by the Dakota Medical Foundation, Impact Institute and the Alex Stern Family Foundation. Additional information is available online at givingheartsday.org and impactgiveback.org/giving-hearts-day.
